DR FARHADIEH AS CHIEF EDITOR
Dr Farhadieh was honoured to be appointed as the Chief Editor of the critically acclaimed and internationally hailed reference textbook of plastic surgery: Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery: Approaches and Techniques. This great achievement is a reflection of his plastic surgery peer recognition at the international level. It has been made possible because of the sheer passion and dedication Dr Farhadieh gives to his profession; it is well and truly a labour of love. He is the only Australian Plastic Surgeon to hold such a post in the last 30 years.
A little bit about the textbook:
Plastic and reconstructive surgery continues to evolve as new techniques open up new possibilities for the surgeon. Published in 2015, this ground-breaking textbook explains and demonstrates contemporary approaches to allow both trainees and experienced surgeons alike to understand and assimilate best practice. It is used by plastic surgery trainees and surgeons all over the world.
The textbook contains over 300 outstanding colour figures demonstrating step-by-step surgical practice and an international cast of leading surgeons showing the paths to effective plastic surgery techniques and outcomes. This text covers all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery including integument, paediatric plastic surgery, head and neck reconstruction, breast surgery, trunk and lower limb reconstruction, upper limb and hand surgery, and aesthetic surgery.
Dr Farhadieh’s own contributions were chapters on pharyngeal reconstruction, skull base reconstruction, cheek reconstruction, breast augmentation and facelift surgery. Dr Farhadieh’s wife Yasamin Ziabari, also a well-established anaesthetist, also wrote her own chapter on local anaesthetics.
