It’s now been one month since Panthea Clinics Sydney moved to St Leonards in Sydney’s North Shore. We met owner and educator plastic surgeon Dr Ross Farhadieh to learn more about the Sydney cosmetic and plastic surgery clinic.
Dr Farhadieh, is Panthea Clinics Sydney in any way different to your practice in Canberra?
We opened both our Canberra and Sydney cosmetic and plastic surgery clinics in 2013. However, our original NSW clinic was located in Darling Point.
The only difference between ACT and Sydney is the location. My patients here can be assured that I am their plastic surgeon in Sydney.
Our patients can also rely on my team support team, whose empathy for those in their care is their prime directive. This is a specialist field of surgery, and patients very rightly must be exacting. They want the best plastic surgeon in Sydney, but they also want the best pre and post-surgery care, not to mention state-of-the-art facilities.
Medicine has a universal flavour, not a local one. A breast augmentation, nose job or facelift in Sydney are as popular here as in any other Australian or world city. We cannot say that rhinoplasty in Sydney or breast augmentation in Sydney is more or less common here than elsewhere. Mothers are often eager to return as close as possible to their pre-pregnancy figures no matter where they live. Geography does not decide if someone is keen to undergo nose surgery because they just don’t feel comfortable with those features.
Have you observed any particular plastic surgery trends of late?
Age can influence the type of procedure patients would like. For instance, Abdominoplasty combined wit breast lift/breast augmentation or combination are very popular. This includes abdominoplasty surgery or a reduction or change in breast shape. In contrast, younger women tend to opt for breast implant surgery or perhaps a rhinoplasty procedure. Older age groups are more interested in facelift procedures.
By their very nature, plastic surgery outcomes are visual but it has to be remembered that it is surgery. It means risk profiles for each of the surgeries, variation of outcomes based on genetics, diet, exercise regime are the norm rather than the exception.
